Oneill Canada introduces Logan Landry

Jul/12/2013

Montreal, Canada (July xx, 2013) – O’Neill, the original surf, snow and youth lifestyle brand for more than 60 years, is happy to welcome Halifax-based surfer Logan Landry to its growing Canadian athlete team.

He joins O’Neill riders on the Canadian surf team, including Janine Strickland on the East Coast and Malcom Daly, Kyle Touhey, Buzzy Statner and Roman Husiuk on the West Coast. As part of the partnership, Landry will wear O’Neill apparel, along with O’Neill branding on his boards. He will also represent the brand at events and within marketing campaigns.

The 23-year-old has been surfing for the last 10 years and can be spotted regularly at his home break of Cow Bay, Nova Scotia. He is well known as an aerial expert who can ride in a wide range of water conditions, including the coldest. Some of his favorite surfing locations around the world include Pavones in Costa Rica, the frigid waters of Iceland and breaks on both coasts of Canada.

“Coming from the small town of Kentville, it’s an amazing opportunity to travel the world as a pro surfer,” said Landry. “With the support of O’Neill, this will open even more doors for me professionally to surf alongside some of the best athletes in the water today. I’m excited to support this brand and look forward to getting to know the rest of the team.”

Landry’s career milestones include representing Canada at the ISA World Games as a junior in 2007, then joining the men’s competition in 2010. He has also been featured in a number of video projects, including ‘The Hunt’ with Alek Parker and ‘The Isle Video,’ along with magazines such as Eastern Surf and LATER.
“We’re proud to have Logan join Team O’Neill here in Canada as we continue to grow our surf initiatives and unveil the beauty of Canadian surfing,” said O’Neill Canada Team Manager, Jimmy Adams. “He’s a great compliment to our roster of athletes and will be a huge asset for putting all the O’Neill product to the test, including outerwear, which is an important factor in the Canadian surf scene.”

Landry has been wearing the newest O’Neill gear from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, including the brand’s popular Hyperfreak and Superfreak boardshorts, walkshorts, and wovens. In addition to its Jack O’Neill Collection, which is inspired by the brand’s founder, O’Neill has collaborated with Pabst Blue Ribbon for a limited-edition capsule that includes the iconic O’Neill and PBR logos on boardshorts, tees and tanks.

In addition to Landry, O’Neill Canada supports a number of star watersports and snow athletes, including wakeboarder Dylan Miller and snowboarders Seb Toots, Max Parrot and Antoine Truchon.
