Name:Mikael-Anne Collins (Miki)
Hometown:Escondido, CA
Influences:My first artistic influence was my Meme’re. She taught me how to sew and make clothes. She really influenced the way I look at things and from that stems my love for all things old and handmade. Right now, I’m amused daily by my daughter’s wonderful craziness. She renews my outlook on things and brings me back to when everything was new and so much fun. But really, everyone I’ve ever known and everything I’ve ever done has influenced me in one way or another..
How long have you been sharing and how did it start:I guess the first time it meant anything was when I won a contest in 8th grade. I got to design the program for one of our graduation church ceremonies. I think I still have it somewhere.
What the Collective means to you:The only way (besides by my parents) I’ve ever been paid for coloring on things…and an amazingly talented group of people.
