A few clips of PJ Raia mainly from New Jersey. He is shown here in his own element of wedgy barrelling beachbreak waves. All of the footage was beautifully shot and edited by Phillip Mansfield.
Stay tuned for more footage from this duo as they are both going to Nicaragua next week.
Our only pro team rider from the NorthEast has been caught tube riding again. Mike Gleason has graced many pages of the major surf magazines locked in perfect barrels. This time twice on the same wave and at home in Monmouth County, NJ. Featured in ESM’s Annual Photo Issue (Volume 19, Issue 145), “CrossFire” showcases a surfer photographed at multiple angles at the same exact moment in time, producing spectacular results.
Gleason is shown casually getting tubed on a Chem Zen model fully suited up for the freezing December water in Jersey.
Between chasing contests around the country, PJ Raia sat down and answered some questions for ESM’s “Who Da Guy”. Look out for one of New Jersey’s most promising kids.
Luke Ditella from South New Jersey is currently featured on EasternSurf.com as this month’s EC Rider and showcases a Chemistry in his quiver.
The board was given to him by Adam Holloway, longtime friend and owner of BareWires Surf Skate in Long Branch. The board has apparently brought good luck to Luke by landing him last month’s cover of ESM.
The North East has been getting amazing waves lately and Mike Gleason has been home and scoring. Despite the frigid conditions, everyone has been blessed with some memorable ones. This winter has been great so far.
Our good friend and owner of one of the most core shops in the world, Adam Holloway, got a sick photo featured on ESPN.com. The article features a recent run of good south swells to hit the east coast. We are all glad that our friends in the North East have been scoring good waves. Check out Adam’s shop BareWires when in New Jersey @ 22 Atlantic Ave, Long Branch, NJ. 07740. (732) 222-5500. Don’t forget to order a fresh custom Chemistry.
Gleason couldn’t take the belt this year but made an amazing effort before falling victim to the lack of waves in the semis. Check the video proof of the Garden State’s finest doing battle for the Grudge Match belt.
