Testing the Wide J 6

With team riders scattered about the globe and design ideas constantly being manifested, sometimes the best way to test a new model and receive instant feedback is to do it yourself. This is Jason Bennett giving his new “Wide 6” it’s first go over a 2 day period in waist high Oceanside beach break. Jason blogged, “Took the “Wide 6″ for a spin today and it felt really good. Went well rail to rail. Thought it was going to be a little to loose with the super wide tail, but the combination of the deep 6 channel bottom really gave it a ton of stability. All around I think it’s going to be a great summer board.” Ironically, shapers who can legitimately test their own designs is pretty rare these days.

Jason is 5’8″ x 180lbs and the Wide 6 he was riding is 5’7″ x 14″ x 19 1/2″ x17 1/2″ x 2 3/8″. This exact board is currently at Surf Ride Oceanside and available for a test ride. There are also a batch of them headed to Branded Surf and Skate in Long Branch, NJ very soon.

Since we first leaked photos of the Wide 6 there hasn’t been much showing the way it performs and a ton of questions. Feel free to contact us anytime with questions or custom order inquiries.
